Colburn and Scott Outfitters had a great 2012 archery elk season in Arizona Unit 9.  We spent 28 days chasing elka nd  had two clients that both harvested great bulls one was 354 and the other was 380.  The rut was very good and intense starting around the opener of the season on the 14th of September and just got better and better until we left at the end of September.  The moon was fairly new and became completely full towards the end of the hunt.  We saw lots of bulls between 300 and 350 inches and quite a few over 350 inches.  I am expecting 2013 to be a banner year if we have a decent winter.  There seemed to be lots of good feed that grew in August and early September.  The elk should be healthy going into the winter of 2012-2013.
